Bert will be remembered as a humble and caring man who in his lifetime developed friendships with and touched the lives of people from all walks of life. True to his nature, Bert’s very last words were, “I’ll see you later”. Yes Bert, we all hope to “see you later”.
Bertram Lomax Rhodes, age 56, lost his battle with cancer in the early morning hours of Sunday September 21, 2014. Bert passed away at his home in Ridgeville S.C. in the company of family and friends who loved and cared for him. Bert was born to Darwin and Kathleen Rhodes on February 17, 1958 in La Plata Maryland. Bert is survived by his brother David Johnson; his sisters Elaine Rhodes and Darwina Marks; four nephews (Rickey Rhodes, Christopher Johnson, Jason Johnson, Michael Giordano); four nieces (Katy Rhodes, Corrie Rhodes, Lillie Miller and Anna Hasty); six great nephews (Logan Johnson, Shain Rhodes, Dylan Clark, Chad Nadeau, Chris Nadeau, T.J.Nadeau); three great nieces (Whitney Rhodes, Kayla Rhodes, Emma Rudd); his cousins Michael, Marie, Randy, Jackie and Amber Boyce; his Love, Kathy Evans; and his dearest friends Steve & Elaine Knight.
