Our beloved Billy John Watson, 34, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014

He was born to the late Michael George Watson and Linda Westfall on February 23, 1980 in Warner Robins, Ga. Billy attended Houston County high school and later attended Kennesaw State University where he studied linguistics. Billy relocated to Charleston, South Carolina in September 2013 where he lived until the time of his death.

He leaves in his wake a heartbroken contingent of friends and family who will honor the memory of our vibrant and ever-optimistic young man as we look back on his life.

Known to the people in his life as a lively and charismatic figure, he was a reliable confidant and an entrusted friend who didn’t find time for us – he made it. Billy could always be counted on for a better perspective, making him popular and extremely easy to talk to. His passions included cooking, automobiles, motorcycles, exotic food, foreign films, indie music, and constantly being on the move. There will never be another Billy, so we count ourselves the lucky ones for having him in our lives.

Billy is survived by his mother, Linda, his sister Michelle Rossi, and his niece, Clara Rossi

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 22 at Crosstowne Christian Church, 1941 Bees Ferry Rd, Charleston, SC 29414.

Arrangements are by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation & Burial Services, North Charleston, SC.

I didn’t know Billy personally, but I know some things about him, things that were shared by his Mother who loved him dearly. Billy was optimistic. He actively sought ways get his health back. He wanted to grab hold of life and live it, not let illness take control of him. He was a fighter. Billy was loved. That is special. By his mother, his sister, his niece, and his Heavenly Father. I am sure that, had I known Billy, I would have loved him too – personally. As it is, I loved him because I had the privilege of praying for him. Rest in the Father’s arms, Billy.
