Bruce Calvin Vassar, 73, of Goose Creek, a retired chief engineer for Sheraton hotels and husband of Elizabeth D. Vassar, died Monday, July 21. A memorial service will be held, Friday, July 25, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation & Burial Services, 7475 Peppermill Parkway, Suite E, N. Chraleston, SC. Arrangements are by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation & Burial Services, North Charleston, SC.

    Vassar Family, I’ve known you all for over 30 years. Mr. Vassar was a pretty special guy in the neighborhood. When you seen that Chevy van coming down the road you better be out of his way. Same thing for that Suburban he had. But he always managed to stop when he knew it was me and ask how the family was doing. He would tell me, I would of ran your ass over if it was someone else. Lol Crazy old man. I smile as I write this because everytime I spoke to him he had a smile for me. I’m truly sorry for y’all’s loss. I hope y’all can find comfort knowing that he is in a better place called HEAVEN! RIP BRUCE VASSAR

    Dear Aunt Betty,

    My heart breaks with the lose of Uncle Bruce. I will always keep my fond memories in my heart. I will miss him dearly. He was truly one of a kind. He was a great Uncle to have and so glad he was mine. God Bless you in your time of loss and sorrow. I am glad I got to speak to him last month and tell him how much I loved him. I know my heart is heavy, but I cannot even imagine the pain of your loss. R.I.P. Uncle Bruce till we meet again always in my heart.
