Allan Musashi Markyvech, 31, of Charleston, SC passed away on December 13, 2017. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, only beloved son to Millie Markyvech on September 2, 1986. He is preceded in death by his father Michael Watson Mimms of Seneca, South Carolina.
Left to forever cherish his memory are his wife, Jessica Markyvech, three beautiful children Lacey Rene’, Ayden Musashi and Aubree Lynn, his dearest mother, Millie Markyvech and loving maternal Grandparents David and Miwako Markyvech of Charleston, SC.
Allan’s three children were the pride & joy of Allan’s life. The legacy of Allan’s kind spirit, love for life, passion for art and perseverance to succeed will live on through them.
Please join us as we celebrate the life of Allan Musashi Markyvech. A memorial service and ceremony will be held on Sunday, January 14th, 2018 at 12:00 noon, located at 1861 Montclair Drive Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464 – Montclair Townhomes Clubhouse

Anthony J. Mercurio, 81, of Charleston, husband of Martha Mercurio, passed away Monday, January 1, 2018. Arrangements are being handled by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services Summerville.
Gerald “Gerry” Anderson Blanton Sr., 72, of Charleston, SC, husband of Nancy Jennings Blanton, died Sunday, December 31, 2017. Gerry was born in Rome, Ga on December 19, 1945 to the late Burton Anderson and Marjorie Winter Blanton. He was preceded in death by a brother, Burton Alexander Blanton.
Gerry attended Clemson University before coming home to work in and eventually take over the family business, Charleston Paint Company. He worked in the paint business for over 55 years, finishing his paint career with Spectrum Paint Company. He was a die-hard Clemson fan and an avid fisherman. He loved being out on the water fishing and shrimping. Gerry was a loving, family man. He enjoyed trips to the mountains with his wife, was always there for advice when his children needed it and enjoyed evening summertime swims with his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Gerry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nancy J. Blanton; two children, son, Andy Blanton (April) and daughter, Jennifer Bates (Alan); as well as three grandchildren, Mason, Brady and Parker. The relatives and friends of Mr. Blanton are invited to attend his funeral service Friday, January 5 at 5:00 pm at Simplicity: Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services, 7475 Peppermill Parkway, North Charleston, SC 29418. The family will receive friends before the service beginning at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Charleston Animal Society or the American Heart Association.
Anthony J. Mercurio, 81, of Charleston, a civil service worker and husband to Martha Mercurio, passed away Monday. Arrangements by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation & Burial Services, Summerville location.
God gained another angel on December 28, 2017 at 12pm. Karen D Palermo, age 54, of Charleston, SC entered into eternal rest after a long battle with multiple health problems; although battling these issues for so long, she had a life fulfilled with love. At the time or her passing, she was surrounded by her daughters, grandchildren and close family friends.
Karen was born on August 9, 1963 to Betty Beaudrot and Mr. Elmore.
Karen has 2 children and 2 step children. Her oldest, Tonya Ramos and her husband, Demetrius Ramos. Her youngest daughter, Tina Barnhill and her husband, Daniel Barnhill, her step children, Joyce and Stacy.
Karen had several grand children, Corey, Johnathan, Tyler, Kaitlynn, Haven, Taniyah, Eddie, Noah, Catherine, Mary Ann, Jon, Titus, Lexi, Sarah and Gabe.
Karen also has great grand children, Jonah, Hunter, Ava, Jacob, and Thomas. Karen is survived by her mother, Betty Beaudrot and her brother, Monty Boroughs. She is preceded in death by her three sisters Debbie, Sharon and Sandy.
Karen leaves behind a very special pet who was also her best friend, Pee Wee. She also has two very special people who she considers her daughters, Cacey Anderson and Sarah Burgsteiner.
Karen also leaves behind very special people who she lived with – Mary Maddox, Janet Lavender, Melanie Lavender, and Jordan Stewart. Karen had many nieces and nephews along with other friends who all loved her very much.
We also wanted to say thank you to her doctors and nurses who helped her through this journey and a very special thank you to Hospice of Charleston who made sure that in her final days, she was comfortable and not in pain, and also helped Tina, Tonya, and the family any way they could. Fly high Momma, we love you!!

Tim was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law and Papa Tim. He loved the Lord, his family, and his country. He was a retired Police Officer and a graduate of the Citadel 1979 where he was part of a select group known as The Boys for Tango 1979.
He is survived by his wife Betty Will, three sons – Jason Will, Jacob Will (Shaye) and Matthew Chambers, Two daughters – Katie Will and Sarah Due, three grandchildren – Jade, Hudson Timothy, and Kira, one brother – Jeff Will of Ohio, and his Mother – in – law Zelda Housand. He is also survived by many sons and daughters that he adopted in friendship and love.
Tim touched so many lives and he will be missed beyond words!

James Harrison Cook, Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 19, 2017 at his home in Charleston, SC. He was born in Mabscott, WV to Kenzie E. Cook, Sr. and Lena Spangler Cook on December 14, 1929. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Sue Scott Cook, brothers K.E. Cook, Jr. and Warren Cook. He is survived by his second wife, Lottie Cook, his children Kathy Cook Beaty and Alfred of The Colony, Texas, James H. Cook, Jr. and Denise of South Carolina and Kenzie H Cook and Tanya of Charleston, SC and Kristy Cook Hiatt of Bainbridge Island, WA, eight grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
