David Malone Light, 55, of Cope, a truck driver and husband of Lou Ann Light, passed away Thursday. Arrangements are by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation & Burial Services Inc.

    Lucy, I’m really sorry to hear this. Although my memories of David are only a fraction of y’all’s, ALL of my mine are great memories. I did, and still do, admire and respect David a lot. I only saw an honest, straightforward guy, committed to whatever he did. I feel fortunate to know him and be able to call him a friend. Betty and I have been gone from the area for a while now. We saw him earlier this year, and it was like we hadn’t even left. But we’ll see each other again.
