Hercy Manker Gooding, , of [ Pinopolis, SC], went home to be with the Lord on the evening of October 1, 2013 surrounded by his loving family.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, October 5, 2013 , Santee Circle Community Church, Moncks Corner, SC. Rev.Chris Williams will be officiating.

Hercy was born in Charleston, SC on June 3, 1928.
He was married to Violet May Baker on August 26, 1949, they were married sixty four years.
Hercy was a technical supervisor at Raybestos Manhattan, formerly “Garco” for 45 years .He was an avid Nascar fan, from the days when they raced on the beach at Daytona . A passionate Dale Earnhardt fan. He loved to camp and vacation in the mountains, Florida and various state park sites. He loved and owned hot rods. He took great pride in his grandchildren, great-grands and great-great grands. He thought they all hung the moon. He will always and forever be in their hearts.
Hercy is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 64 yrs, Violet, four sons, Mike Gooding (Bonnie),
Danny Gooding (Sandie), Timmy Gooding (Chan) and Rodney Gooding, brother-in-law’s George Baker(Thelma), Sonny Baker(Carolyn) and David Baker. 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grands, 2 great-great grands, 9 nieces and nephews,15 great nieces and nephews and his faithful friends, “lil girl” and “lil boy.
Hercy is preceded in death by his parents Hercy and Frances Gooding, his in-laws David and Elsie Baker, grandson Lucas Gooding and a nephew Thomas Baker.
My dear Violet do not let your heart be heavy, until we meet again, I am in the gentle breeze that blows and the sunbeams that dance across your beautiful face, I am with Jesus now, preparing your place.
