Local businessman, James D. Wilson, Sr. passed from earthly life on February 9, 2015 to an eternity with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mr. Wilson was the son of Woodrow George and Mary Yvonne (Middleton) Wilson, and was born in South Carolina on January 30, 1942. He is survived by his wife, Mary Russell Wilson; four children, Jorgia M. Hazelwood, James Danner Wilson, Jr., Carolyn “Carrie” Wilson Fisher and Hannah Leigh Wilson; and by numerous grand and great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Jim is also survived by his much-loved siblings, brother, Joseph P. Wilson and sister, Mary Yvette Wilson Candler. He was preceded in his journey by his parents and his brother, Richard George Wilson, Sr. Mr. Wilson remembers with love his first cousins, Paul, Marion and Marta Valentino. Like his father, Mr. Wilson served in the United States Navy and holds a BS degree from the University of South Carolina, and post-graduate degrees from Kennedy-Western University. Mr. Wilson’s life priorities were his Lord, his family and his dedication as a family provider and a committed businessman to his clientele. He was always thankful for his life. Final arrangements will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2015 at St. Andrew’s Historic Church, 440 Whilden St., Mount Pleasant, SC 29464.
