Kathleen G. Lockey, 78 of North Charleston , entered eternal rest on June 23, 2012 after a long illness. She is predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Donald Arthur Lockey; son Robert Donald Lockey, and daughter Pauline Lavone Lockey Reeves.
Surviving are a son, Mickey Dale Lockey of Oakland, California; loving and devoted daughter Renee Stroman and son-in-law Jack Stroman of North Charleston; sons Bradford Lockey and wife Kathy Lockey of Summerville; and Roger James Lockey and his wife Tabby, also of North Charleston. Kathleen also leaves 11 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, as well as daughter-in-law Sharon Keenum Lockey of West Ashley.
Kathleen was born in Florence, South Carolina on July 28, 1934 and lived in Charleston for many years. She spent much of her career helping others, mainly in the hospitality industry. She also held independent distributorships with major food companies, such as Tom’s Foods. She retired in 1996 and devoted her time to her family.
The family would like to express its heartfelt appreciation to the love and caring support shown to her by her dedicated team of caregivers from Lutheran Hospice of Mt. Pleasant, SC.
Visitation for Kathleen will take place on Monday, June 25, 2012 from 5:00PM-7:00PM at Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services (7475 Peppermill Parkway, North Charleston SC 29418). Graveside services celebrating her life will take place on Tuesday, June 26 at 10AM at Live Oak Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in her name to Lutheran Hospice of Mt. Pleasant (1885 Rifle Range Road, #46 Mount Pleasant SC 29464)
