Mary Sunkamaitis

By April 5, 2013 Obituaries

Mary Sunkamaitis (3/25/1947-4/4/2013), 66, passed away early Thursday morning with family surrounding her as she took her last breath. Mary is leaving behind a sister, Emily Jarosz; two daughters, Donna Sunkamaitis Clarke and Amy Sunkamaitis; a son, Brian Sunkamaitis; a son in law, Richard Clarke, a daughter in law Tamra Gobert, and four grandchildren, Amelia, Zane, Blake and Madison.

Mary will be greatly missed by many other dear family members and friends. Mary let all of us dream and do what we believed in. She held our hands, cried with us, and laughed with us.

I would like to share a memory with all of you. My mother loved being with us so much that when we were kids in high school and wanted to skip to be with our friends, mom would say “Let’s have a mother and daughter day or a mother and son day.” She would take us shopping out of town so others wouldn’t know we were skipping and so that she could skip work with us.  We all have special stories to share, but now is the time to say we will see you later. We will miss you, Mary. And when it is our time to head home, please be at the gate waiting, just in case we need help getting in. We love you, Mom.

    AMY-
So Sorry to learn of your mother’s passing. Zichronah livracha–may her memory be for a blessing.
I just happened to look you up on the net as you live close to friends of mine.

I live in Carson City but will be moving on this summer. I still have the afghan your mother made for me. I packed it and shipped it when I moved to NV in 1996. It is safely stored away for now until I settle again.

I know it seems wierd hearing from me but I did not want to let something this important go unacknowledged.
Take care of yourself and be at peace.
