Raymond “Frosty” Almers

Raymond “Frosty” Almers, 70, of Summerville, South Carolina  passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 7. He was born on April 7, 1947 in Charleston, South Carolina to the late Robert and Lois (Shealy) Almers.

 

Raymond  is survived by his wife of 49 years, Margaret Almers; his children, Paige (Les) Taylor; Amy (Roger) Hampton; and Travis (Elizabeth) Almers; his grandchildren, Hunter, Lacy, Colby, Luke, Abby, Reed, and Campbell; and his sister, Barbara Matthews.

 

Raymond was in the first graduating class of Baptist College. He was a mentor to several young engineers at the shipyard, and throughout his career as a nuclear engineer.

 

An ideal day for Raymond was at the lake surrounded by his family.

 

A visitation will take place at New Hope United Methodist Church (1253 Jedburg Road) on December 9 from 12:00PM  –  1:00PM with funeral services immediately following at 1:00PM with Rev. Larry Bradberry officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Life Care Center of Charleston (2600 Elms Plantation Blvd., 29406.)

 

Arrangements are handled by Simplicity: Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services, Inc. – Summerville location.
