Reverend Randall A. Weldy, 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday February 8, 2018 in North Charleston, SC. He was born on October 8, 1941 in Elkhart, IN to the late Lowell and Arlowene Weldy. He married his late wife, Joyce Holdeman Weldy on April 8, 1961. He married Sandra Thompson Weldy on June 4, 2003. He served as a pastor in many churches in Missouri for 28 years. After moving to South Carolina, he served as the Chaplain at the Coastal Center in Ladson, SC while also accepting opportunities for pulpit supply for the Screven Baptist Association. While working as a teacher assistant at West Ashley High School and Burke High School, he continued to serve faithfully to a men’s Sunday school class.


He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Weldy, parents Lowell Weldy and Arlowene Weldy, sisters-in law Bonnie Weldy and Vicki Weldy, and granddaughter Rachel Gibson. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Weldy, sister Sherry (Jim) Smith, brother Tim (Judy) Weldy, brother Tom Weldy, brother Brent (Sarah) Weldy, daughter Diane (Duane) Berry, son David (Tina) Weldy, daughter Doreen (Keith) Gibson, step-daughter Joanna (Chris) Connell, and step-son Samuel Swindler. He is also survived by                        grandchildren, Daniel (Katie) Gibson, Sara (Matt) Parrott, Becky (Jacob) Paul, Micah (Ashley) Berry, Nathaniel Berry, Jonathan (Brittany) Weldy, Ben (Kalen) Weldy, Hannah Gibson, Caleb Connell, Caroline Connell, and ten great-grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces.

Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Doorway Baptist Church, 7825 Dorchester Road, North Charleston, SC 29418. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to New Life Camp/Joy Stiver (9927 Falls Of Neuse Rd. Raleigh, NC 27614) or South Berkeley Seniors Center (103 Thurgood Road Goose Creek, SC 29445).
