hello john, i’m simon’s sister and am very comforted to know he had so many friends and brothers in charleston. i was in charleston when he passed and he was brave and ready to go. he’s at peace now. if you go to facebook, there are some beautiful messages on his page and the pages of his closer friends like fred reyes and fred’s daughter, cristina reyes smith. i’m sure you know he also had a daughter, justicia, and she’s also on facebook if you’d like to message her. i would love to know more about your friendship with my baby bro’. thank you for your kind words, lydia

I hope you saw my post on his Facebook page. I knew, of course, that he was very ill, but had no idea that he had passed. Many of us will miss Simon dearly – he was a wonderful friend, and I always enjoyed seeing him, spending time with him, his marvelous sense of humor. Is there going to be a memorial service? I’m sure I’m far from being the only person who would appreciate a time to pay final respects and say good-bye.
