Susan J. Cooper

By October 6, 2014 Obituaries

“My Susan”, my wife, my soul-mate, my best friend, and the love of my life, ended her long battle from the ravages of Cancer early this Monday morning.   She was my loving Wife of over 44 years, a Daughter, a Mother, and Grandma.  Her friends and family were her life.   I know everyone’s life she touched will have been better for knowing her.  Susan leaves behind her Mum and Dad- Vi and Gerard Peters of Johns Island; her Son and Daughter-in-law- Derek and Celynne and Grandson- Christian of Summerville; her best and lifelong Friend- Glenda Wren of Holly Hill.    Lastly, she leaves behind “her Lonnie”, her Husband and the man who has spent the past 45+ years wondering how he could have been so lucky to have won the love of that wonderful girl all those years ago.

I will always Love and Miss You

Susan just wanted a small, private family service, and in lieu flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in her name. Arrangements are by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation & Burial Services.

Lonnie, I have read this beautiful, loving tribute you have written to Susan several times. I still cry for your broken heart. I know how much you love her because you always tell me when we do talk. Yes, you were lucky to have met her but you were also Blessed and she was Blessed to have had you in her life. I know the past ten years have been rough but the few times I spoke to you or Susan , you both were happy and upbeat and handled everything with humor and Grace. God Bless you and your family as you go through the next few weeks adjusting to the new way things are. My personal belief is her physical body may be gone but her Spirit lives on and will watch over you. Always know I love you!!!

Friends feel the pain of their friends without speaking. I’m glad I got to talk to you the other day. I know much of your struggles from our brief talks at work. My wife is my best friend as you elegantly stated, I can hardly imagine the depth of loss. Fran and I pray for you and your family. Hope to see you soon. Call if we can do anything, please.

Max just know our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow. As your neighbor for the last 27 years I know just how lucky you are to have such a great family that loves you and is there for you when ever you need them. We’re always just a rock throw away if you need anything. Susan was always such a nice lady and was always very pleasant to be around. Kathy and I both believes she is in a better place and her spirit will always be there for you to remember. Amen…
