Obituary of Jean Carroll

Jean Catherine Carroll, age 69 passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home in Monck’s Corner, SC on Monday April 2, 2018. Jean was born on February 5, 1949 in Baltimore, Maryland to James “Shorty” Kohlhaus and Carolyn “Mert” Sparenberg. She was a 1967 graduate of Lansdowne High School. She married Timothy Lampton Carroll in 1969 and together they had two sons Timothy Mark Carroll and Robert Scott Carroll. Jean raised her children in Annapolis Maryland while studying to become a registered nurse. She graduated from nursing school in 1979 and went on to have a long and distinguished career in surgical nursing and hospital management. Jean was a loving and caring soul who had the uncanny knack of befriending everyone she met. She was a beacon of light to many people in their time of darkness and need. She welcomed anyone and everyone who came into her life both professionally and personally with a beautiful smile and a loving touch. Most recently Jean and her husband spent their time volunteering with their “extended family” at Faith Assembly of God Food Bank in North Charleston, SC. She is survived by her loyal and loving husband of 48 years Timothy, her son Mark and Bob (Renee), her grandchildren Emily, Hannah, Sydney, Katie, William, Alyssa and Trip, her brothers Jimmy, Billy and Raymond, her twin sister Joan, her younger sister Mary and cherished friends too many to count. A celebration of Jean’s life will be held at noon on Tuesday, April 10th at Faith Assembly of God Church Remount Campus, 1527 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Jean’s name to Anne Arundel Medical Center Foundation on behalf of Fish For A Cure. Fish For A Cure supports the Cancer Survivorship Program at AAMC’s Geaton and JoAnn DeCesaris Cancer Institute.
