Cinder Lee Walters

Cinder Lee Walters, 64, a resident of James Island, SC, died May 17, 2018. Her memorial service will be held, Friday May 25, 2018 at 4:00 pm.

Cinder was born December 17, 1953 at the old US Naval hospital in North Charleston, SC.  She was the last of 10 children and the sixth daughter born to Frank Benjamin and Florence Cumbee Walters. She attended North Charleston schools and in 2005 completed a course at Trident Technical College for a C.N.A. State of SC nurses aid registry. She graduated with perfect attendance and was on the honor roll with a 95 average for the course. She worked many years with sick, elderly and dying persons. She was very devoted to this kind of work, loved her profession and her patients. She loved gardening with both flowers and vegetables. She loved “doodling”, also coloring, sewing and fishing. She recently enjoyed a visit to Florida for a fishing trip with her nephew on his boat in Cocoa Beach. Cinder is also a Breast Cancer Survivor and a devout Christian.

She is survived by her sister, Gloria Walters Hays (Jim) of James Island, her five children, Frank, Michelle, Antoinette, Jimmy and Jennifer, 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Cinder was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

Memorial service will be Friday May 25, 2018 at 4 pm at Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation, 281 Treeland Drive suite C Ladson, SC 29456.
