Obituary of Betty Delores Hinks

Betty Delores Hinks, 79, of Goose Creek, wife of Gary Wayne Hinks, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 at her residence. Betty was born 17 June 1939 in Carroll County, Maryland, daughter of the late John William Young and Olive Stitely Wilson. She is predeceased by her brother Charles Robert Young and her sister Beverly Darlene Hast.

She is survived by her husband Gary Wayne Hinks of 29 years; her two brothers, John William Young Jr. and Darrell Lane Young, one son Robert A. Hood  (Cheryl) and one daughter, Robyn A. Ryan (Michael) of Goose Creek, two grandchildren, Jennifer Fitzhugh and Madison Ryan, two step children, Bonni Watson and Gary A Hinks, four step grandchildren, Chelsea Smith, Brooke Watson, Jessie Watson, and Gary A Hinks Jr and two great grandchildren Colin Fitzhugh and Declan Fitzhugh.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Drop In Memorial from noon Til 1PM November 19, 2018, at Simplicity Cremation and Burial Services, 281 Treeland Drive, Ladson, SC, 29456. An additional Memorial Service will be held at Peace Presbyterian Church, 174 Londonderry Road, Goose Creek SC, 29445, Date TBD.

Betty graduated from Elmer A. Wolfe, High School, Union Bridge, Maryland, 1957.

She enjoyed volunteering at Trident Medical Center for 16 plus years in the errand room, was an avid Cruise taker and an above average bowler on several leagues. She possessed a warm heart, infectious smile to everyone she met. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in honor of Betty to the American Cancer Society.
