Obituary of Harold Gene Stanley

Retired,TSG Harold Gene Stanley, 85 years old of CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA
PASSED AWAY ON December 8th, 2018.

Harold was born in Loris, SC on 29 January 1933 son of Wayland H. and Bertha
Gertrude Rhodes Stanley. He graduated from Loris High School in 1951 and
immediately volunteered for the USAF and served HONORABLY for 20 years.
After retiring from the AIR FORCE December 1. 1971 accepted a job with Douglas
County Social Services, in the capacity of Assistant Business Manager and
Supervisor of the Medical Billing Unit in Omaha, Nebraska and subsequently
promoted to State level as a Cost analyst serving in the Omaha Office for 3 years
then moved on to a better paying job as Finance Manager! Sales with King Lincoln
Mercury, Omaha, Nebraska then subsequently moved back to Charleston, SC in 1978
accepting employment with Palmetto Ford and Tom Parsell Chevrolet. He served
for a total of 18 years in the automobile industry. He graduated from Trident
Technical College with an Associate Degree in Business Management. After
graduation from TTC he worked in the Career Counseling as Scheduling Clerk. He
worked at VA hospital Charleston, SC as a file Clerk. He also worked for
Charleston County Clerk of Court Office in Child Support Collection and for a
short period with Charleston County Parks. He attended Coastal Light Baptist
Church where he was an active member till his passing.

Harold is survived by his daughter Karen Stanley Berry and her husband Mark
Berry of Charleston, SC; and son his Mark Drew Stanley of Omaha, Nebraska. His
grandchildren: Stephanie and Nick Berry; and Mitchell Stanley his wife Beth and
their children Madison and Avery of Charleston, SC; and Kristina Stanley Phipps from Charleston, SC; and his sister Mary Elizabeth Currie, Loris, SC. The following preceded him in death of his parents and wife Ruth Arstall Stanley,
of St. Helens, England and his eldest son Gary Paul Stanley of Charleston, SC his
Brother PFC Julian Carr Stanley, US Army killed in action in France during WWII
and is buried in US NATIONAL CEMETARY IN Epinal, France, his sisters Iris
Lee Buddin of Wilmington, NC, Mildred Louise Somers of North Myrtle Beach, SC,
Lois Rhodes Long Cannon of Conway, SC and George Fletcher Stanley of Edmond,
Oklahoma. Harold supported and dedicated his later years to servicing his communitive in spreading the word of God in many activities. He was a dedicated father and grandfather and will be truly missed by all friends and family. The single most important thing he tough us was to always put God first!

John 3:16-17 16 “For God so loved the worked that he gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

17 “For God did not send His Son into the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

The Visitation service will be held at Simplicity Funeral Services in North Charleston

December 12, 2018 between 7 pm and 8 pm.

The burial will be at the Beaufort US National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC on Thursday

December 13th 2018 at 11 am with the grave site service conducted be his Pastor

Meredeth Sears of Coastal Light Baptist Church with a military gun salute.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the homeless and destitute through
