Gary Eyles

Obituary of Gary Eyles

OBITUARY

Mr. Gary William Eyles, son of the late Donald William Eyles and Joyce Seward Eyles, was born June 2, 1954 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of Bethel Park Senior High School. He lived in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania and was an active member of the Steamfitters Local 449 for forty-five years.

Rarely seen without a black and gold t—shirt, Gary was a proud and enthusiastic Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates fan. He was also a great lover of animals and his passion was the rescue, rehabilitation and care of his beloved cats and dogs. In addition to being the world’s most devoted pet owner, Gary was a loving brother to his many siblings, a caretaker for his elderly relatives, a loyal friend, and an wonderfiil uncle. Always up for a game of cards, long walk, trip to the beach, or getting (very) lost on a road trip, Gary was the glue that held his siblings together after the loss of their parents. He was loved beyond words and his influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him. He passed away peacefully Thursday, December 13, 2018 in Charleston, SC, surrounded by family members who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald “Russ”

(Donna) Eyles, and his nephews William Eyles and Zachary Jones.

Gary will be forever loved and his memory forever cherished by his step-mother, Marilyn Eyles; siblings Carol Jean (Dennis) Goff, Richard (Jacqueline) Eyles, Robin (Joseph) Jones, Dennis Eyles, James (Maureen) Eyles, and Janet (Richard) Bradfield; twelve nieces and nephews, ten grandnieces and nephews, many friends and cousins, and his beloved dog and best friend, Boo.

Friends and family will host a private celebration of his life this summer in Pittsburgh, PA. Donations can be made in his name to the Animal Rescue League of Westem Pennsylvania, 6926 Hamilton Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15208.
