Obituary of Joseph L McGee, Jr.

Joseph L. McGee, Jr. of Ladson, SC passed away Monday, December 17, 2018, surrounded by loved ones after a battle with cancer. He graduated from Goose Creek High School in 1973. 

He is survived by his wife Nanette Spangler McGee, one son, Joseph L McGee III (Donna), his mother Annie Ruth McGee, five sisters, Cheryl Bodiford (Wayne), Ruth Bledsoe (Bill), Linda Kingery (Doug), Donna Gregory (Bobby), and Julie Colbourne.  He is also survived by six grandchildren, Jonathan, Kristopher, Elizabeth, Ethan, Hannah, and Austin, along with numerous nieces and nephew.  He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph L. McGee, Sr, his father-in-law, Max E. Spangler, and his mother-in-law, Louise G. Spangler.  He was a father figure to many and known as “Grandpa” to a lot of children.

A visitation and memorial service will take place on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Simplicity (281 Treeland Drive, Ladson, SC 29456.)
