Obituary of Marc Michael Meech

It is with extreme sadness to announce the passing of Marc Michael Meech (54) on Wednesday, February 27, 2019. He leaves behind his wife Stacey (Morgan) Meech and his three daughters, Rachel Kay Meech (29), Cara Marie Meech (27) both of Columbus, OH, and Samantha Nicole Meech (23) of Charleston, SC.

He also leaves behind his father, David Meech of Lutz, FL. (wife Linda), mother Judie Smock of Meadville, PA; father-in-law Marion Bauer of Lafayette, IN; sister Michelle Meech (spouse, Ana Hernandez) of Kingston, NY; step-siblings  Lauren Nordberg (husband Jason) of Lithia, FL; Cindy Jacobs (spouse John) Cochranton, PA; Linda Webb of Tampa, FL, and Tom Smock, of Pittsburgh, PA.

Marc graduated from Purdue University in 1989 with a degree in Economics. He served as the Chief Financial Officer of The Charleston Museum.

Marc was always active, training and completing marathons and several 5K challenges. Marc loved spending time with his wife outdoors, hiking in the Dolly Sods Wilderness in West Virginia, Mt. Rogers National Forrest in Virginia, and the Ace Basin Wildlife Refuge in South Carolina. If not hiking in the mountains he enjoyed walking and playing with his furry-grand dog Max, spending time at the beach, dolphin watching on the boat, and playing bocce ball. Marc has been a loyal Miami Dolphins Fan since childhood (even during the rough years) and followed all of Purdue sports.

Marc enjoyed the history channel, silly comedies, and trivia night with his girls. Marc recently leaned how to cook gourmet meals, and knew that you could solve almost any household, car and boat repairs with a good YouTube video. He loved Van Halen, excellent 80’s rock, and live music.

Marc was dedicated to his work and loyal to his family and friends.  His greatest passion was his wife and daughters, whom he always put first and loved deeply, and for that, he will be forever missed and always cherished.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 4th at The Dill Sanctuary at 5:00. 1163 Riverland Drive, James Island.  Flowers are gratefully declined.
