Obituary of Martha Irene Teti

Martha Irene Knight Teti (77) of Charleston, SC, passed away March 29, 2019 at home
peacefully in her sleep. Martha was born in Charleston, SC and was the daughter of
James B. Knight and Agnes Knight also of Charleston, SC. She was the oldest of 4
children in addition to her siblings Debra Byrd, Susan Glick, and Jamie Knight. Martha
graduated from Mt Vernon High School in Virginia. She was a retired administrator for
Charleston Naval Shipyard until they closed. She then worked as an administrator for
TDS and SRC government contract companies respectively until she completely retired.
Martha was also an accomplished local professional artist.
Martha enjoyed painting, and art filled most of her adult life with joy. She loved to sew,
create, and make artistic crafts. She left behind mounds of bible studies she loved to
complete. She would often go to parks, beaches, and Downtown Charleston to take
pictures of things that caught her eye. She enjoyed sweet tea and pecan pie. Her favorite
shows were all found on Hallmark and HGTV. Her favorite time of year was Thanksgiving
in which she spent time with siblings and extended family. She enjoyed occasional
cruises with her siblings and always enjoyed the time she spent with them. When she
wasn’t painting or wondering the Charleston area, she spent her time with her sons and
grandchildren either having dinner, going to parks, traveling to Disney, or just sitting
around discussing life. Her family was her most prized possession.
She is survived by her two sons Kevin Scott Teti and Bryan Christopher Teti. By Bryan’s
wife Risherrah Teti, and by her 4 grandchildren: Scout Mei-Ling Teti (15), Elliott Catherine
Teti (11), Delaney Sophia Teti (8), and Luke Cyrus Teti (4). She is also survived by her
siblings and their spouses: Debra and Ronnie Byrd, Susan and Dave Glick, and Jamie and
Carolin Knight. In addition, she is survived by a host of other family who will miss her
greatly.

Services will be held this Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and
