Obituary of Charles Roberts

Charles Detlaw Roberts,76, of Summerville, SC died March 29, 2019. He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Detlaw Roberts and mother, Aerie Avant Roberts. A great niece Allison Howell.

He is survived by his daughter and Charla R. McDonald (Johnny)of Mt Pleasant and his son Charles (Rob) Detlaw Roberts, Jr. (Melissa) and two granddaughters (Hayes McDonald and Kristen Boyer) and one grandson (Charles D. Roberts III).  Joanne K Roberts, his ex-wife, of Charleston.  Also, survived by his brothers Welton B. Roberts (Mary) of Georgetown, and Gary D. Roberts, Jr of Summerville and his sister Ann R. Cook (Lamar) of Cross.  And three nieces, six nephews and nine great nieces and six great nephews.

Charlie served in the Air Force from 1960-1964 worked as a mechanic on airplanes.  After the Air Force, he began is long career in the Car Business.  He was self-employed the remainder of his life.  He had a great love of golf, horses and spending time up in Myrtle Beach at the SOS beach weeks and shagging with his friends. He was a kind spirited man and he will be missed by his family and friends.
