Obituary of Nola Smith
Nola S. Smith, age 85, wife of the late Gary Sprague and the late Frank Smith, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 10, 2019. She resided at “The Village” in Summerville, S.C.
Nola was born October 5, 1933, in Salt Lake City, Utah, daughter of the late Loraine and Edith Mecham. She is predeceased by her brother Gary Mecham and sister Lois Whittaker.
She grew up in Vale, Oregon, where she worked on her father’s farm. Nola was a down to earth loving woman and had a passion for animals. She graduated from Vale High School and was an active member of the 4H Club. Nola enjoyed riding horses, traveling, reading, sewing, and enjoyed being a supportive military wife. Her most joy was Trixie (dog) and strolling her through the “The Village” on her rollator.
She was a member of Boone Hill United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: her, two children Tauna Longest (Don) and Lorie Hosie (Rich), four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, Brother Fred Mecham (Shelia), Sister Ann Myers (Bob), loving companion Trixie (dog) and a number of other loving relatives and close friends.
A memorial service celebrating her life will commence Sunday, April 14, 2019, at 2:00PM located at Lola Johnstone Memorial Chapel, The Village at Summerville, 201 W. 9th North St., Summerville, SC 29483.
