Obituary of Shirley Galloway

Shirley Downs Galloway, of Bonneau Beach, SC, born November 22, 1934, in Charleston County, South Carolina, passed away at age 84 on April 12, 2019. She attended North Charleston High School. She worked for Charleston County Schools in several different school lunchrooms, longest time as manager of Bonds-Wilson High School lunchroom from the late 70's-mid 80's.

Shirley was the beloved wife of Raymond Thomas Galloway, Sr. (deceased). And the beloved daughter of Lombard and Louise Downs (deceased).

She is survived by her sons, Raymond T. Galloway, Jr. (Cindy)

and David L. Galloway (Gloria); and daughter, Catherine L. Legette (Gary); 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Betty Carpenter (Leroy-deceased) and Sally Whetsell (Johnny); 2 brothers, Bardie Downs (Joyce) and Mike Downs (Terry). And numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

She was an active member of the Bonneau Beach Civic Club, and the Bonneau Beach Garden Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations to either of the above organizations, or a charity of your choice, would be welcomed by the family. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date for family and friends.
