Obituary of Jack Dale Tompkins

Jack Dale Tompkins was born on April 5, 1949 and entered into eternal rest on august 8, 2019. Mr. Tompkins leaves behind a wife of 20 years, Colleena Tompkins; daughter, Amy Fix; three step sons, Charles Hall, Justin Waddle, and Joshua Waddle; two daughter-in-laws, Lindsey Carr and Lisa Harvey; and six beautiful grandchildren, Brandon Waddle(15), Blake Dale Waddle (9), Braylei Waddle (8), Elias Waddle (7), Ethan Hart (13), and Preston Fix (11). He also leaves behind five sisters, Caroline, Mary, Donna, peggy, and Birdy, all who reside in Michigan.  He also has five brothers, Steve, dan, Jerry, Rich (deceased), Gary (deceased) of Michigan.  He had lots of nieces and nephews which he left behind. He also left behind his three dogs which he loved as his own children, Cleo, Milo, and Buddy.  Jack was a veteran who served in the Air Force and fought in Veit Nam. He serves as a maintenance supervisor for Force Protection for over 15 years.  All that knew him would be quick to tell you that he had a heart of gold. They say no one’s perfect but he most certainly was. He was master of all trades. He was a very kind, loving man who cherished his family and dogs more than anything in this world. His favorite things to do on free time was vacation to Michigan for family reunions.  He touched the lives of a lot of people and his spirit will continue on with us all. So rest easy Jack until we see you again. Fly high in heaven. We love you. Visitation and funeral services will be held at Ladson Baptist Church, 3231 Ladson Road, Ladson, SC 29456 on Tuesday, August 20. Visitation will be from 6 – 7 PM. Military Honors will be at 7 PM followed by a funeral service with Rev. Ted Caudell.
