Obituary of Geraldine Graham

Geraldine (Gerry) Brinson Graham, 84, of Charleston entered peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday October 2, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones.

Gerry was born on May 3^rd, 1935 in Pinopolis, SC. She was the daughter of James and Maggie Parker Brinson.

As a young girl the family moved to Charleston where Gerry spent the remainder of her life in the West Ashley community. On December 18^th, 1953 she married Adolphus F. Graham of Loris, SC and together they raised their family.

Gerry attended St. Andrews Parish High School and was a longtime member of Pinecrest Baptist Church. She was employed by Piggly Wiggly for many years before obtaining her certification in Childhood Development. She nurtured and cared for countless children in the community through her employment at Neely’s Early Childhood Development Center and Carousel Early Childhood Center. Gerry had a vivacious personality and always made those around her laugh. She was a devout Christian. Gerry was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children Michael A. Graham (Ginny), of Raleigh, NC, Pamela Graham Justice of Santee, SC and Teresa Graham Stone of Charleston, SC. She was preceded in death by her daughter Susan Elaine Graham.

She especially cherished her role of grandmother (Nana) to Jennifer Justice Osteen (Bob), George Justice III (Angela) and Emalie Stone Sikorski all of Charleston. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson Joel Alan Stone.

Gerry loved spending time with her great-grandchildren Chace Cooper, Arabella Justice, Gianna Justice and Mia Justice of Charleston, Ellison Sikorski and Beckett Sikorski of Jedburg, SC.

She was a dear sister to James R. Brinson (Terry) of New York, Jeanette Brinson LeCroy and Annette Brinson Cox of Charleston. She was preceded in death by her beloved siblings Evelyn Brinson Jessen, Marilyn Brinson Watts, Hal C. Brinson and Sandra Brinson Kneece.

She leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at 2pm on Sunday October 6, 2019 at Pinecrest Baptist Church. Visitation with family before service at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pinecrest Baptist Church 1285 Ashley Hall Road Charleston, SC 29407.
