Obituary of Donald Wilson

James Island, Charleston – Donald (Don) Percy Wilson, 60, passed away with his loving wife, Yvette, by his side on October 1st, 2019 after a three year battle with cancer.

Don was born on March 31st, 1959 in Eden, North Carolina, the son of Edward and Sylvia Wilson.

Don is survived by his wife of 27 years, Yvette Tessier Wilson, his son, Joseph and brother, Ronald. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Franklin Wilson, his mother, Sylvia Cox Wilson and his stepmother, Ramona Cardwell Wilson as well as his beloved dogs Bambi and Zoey.

He served in the Navy as an Aviator Electrician until June of 1996. While stationed in Alameda, California in 1989 he met the love of his life, Yvette Tessier. They were married in May of 1992 in Eden, North Carolina. After his retirement from the Navy in 1996 he went on to work as an Internet Technology Specialist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Charleston, SC.

Don enjoyed spending time with Yvette and their dogs and loved getting away to his cabin in the mountains of North Carolina. He liked to hunt, fish and grill out with friends. Don was a jack of all trades with many hobbies including building remote controlled airplanes, flying drones and sailing his remote controlled boat.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, October 11th, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services – 7475 Peppermill Parkway, Suite E, North Charleston, SC 29418.
