Edwin Bernard Quinn – 94 years old

Died February 4, 2020

Married for 72 years to Fannie Tucker Quinn. They have three children, Nancy Quinn Johnston (John), Marilyn Quinn Muckenfuss (Milton) and John Edwin Quinn (Andrea), eight grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He has a sister, Mary Cecile Quinn and sister in law, Betty Ann Knisley Quinn. He is predeceased by mother, Eula Agnes Kelley Quinn, father, John Monaghan Quinn and three brothers, Charles Monaghan, James St. John, and Gerald Joseph Quinn and his sister, Eulalie Quinn Pace.

Eddie joined James Island Presbyterian Church after his marriage, serving in many roles including Choir, Deacon, Elder, Sunday school director, and on countless committees. Fannie and Eddie delivered Meals on Wheels on James Island for many years. They enjoyed traveling and visiting with family and friends. He also participated in the Golden Glove Boxers during his childhood.

After graduating from Murray Vocational, Eddie joined the US Navy during World War II, serving as a Seaman on Guadalcanal, Saipan and Tinian. He was recognized for his service on The Honor Flight to Washington DC. He worked at Agrico Chemical for more than 20 years. Eddie worked until retirement with the James Island Public Service District managing the creation of the sewer system on James Island and supervising maintenance.

A memorial service will be held at James Island Presbyterian Church, Saturday February 8 at 2:00. A reception will follow to greet family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the James Island Presbyterian Church, Music and Worship Fund.
