Winford F Simms (Sonny Simms)

Born in Chattanooga, TN November 14, 1943; preceded by his mother Roxy Christine Simms and brother James Edward Simms. Survived by his wife D. Theresa Simms, sister-in-law Mary Littell, sons Scott Frederick Simms, Joseph Galloway Simms and John Bardon III, daughters C. Christine Simms, Heather Peden and Shanna Brogdon, 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Sonny served in the Army National Guard Reserves to become a Sargent in the Infantry before honorably discharging.  After his service in the military Sonny went on to work as a Fireman, a Carpenter and a Security Guard.  He had a very strong work ethic and was very proud of all the skills and knowledge he acquired throughout his lifetime.  He was a very fun loving 1950’s type person who loved to joke and make people smile. He loved his family and pets dearly; he also loved drinking coffee with his friends.  He believed in American values and hard work.  He was very loved and will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him.
