Obituary of Charles Eudell Watkins

Charles Eudell Watkins 76 of Goose Creek passed away on May 28, 2020.  He was born in Philadelphia, Mississippi on November 29, 1943, a son of William Eudell Watkins and Ollie Faye Allsup Watkins.

He was a graduate of Pascagoula High School in Pascagoula, Mississippi.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years Catherine Horton Watkins, two daughters Selina Nadine Krasowski (Matt) of Mt. Pleasant and Cheryl Estee Boggs (Edward) of Isle of Palms; four grandchildren Amber Brooke Keeler (Nathan), Bailey Summer Estee, Trevor Grai Estee and Sophia Mary Catherine Krasowski; three great grandchildren Vienna Belle Keeler, Lydia Autumn Keeler and Ada Finley Keeler; a sister Reta Faye Hysell, a brother, Dwight Anthony Watkins.  In addition to his parents, a sister, Linda Kaye Adcock, predeceased him.  

Charles served in the U.S. Navy Submarine Force for 24 years aboard the USS Barbell (SS 580), USS Trumpetfish (SS 425), USS Grayling (SSN 646), USS Sunfish (SSN 649) and USS Parche (SSN 683).

Charlie retired as a Torpedo Master Chief and veteran of numerous combat missions, some of which still remain classified. Charlie (aka Poppi) will be remembered for his love of his family, friends, the outdoors and for sneaking Dove Bars and Debbie Cakes to his grandchildren.

Due to the current circumstances, there will be a small private service on June 2, 2020.  In lieu of flowers, please share what you can with someone that is in need of help and love.
