Lawrence and I first met Rosie and John at the James Island Park Crabbing dock. Rosie had a crab in her net, and John was on the floating dock learning to cast a net the size of some of the airplanes he flew. We connected over such Lowcountry gifts you secure with patience and skill.
We soon learned more of John's skills when he created homemade pasta and stuffed it with crab. That was my first experience with homemade pasta, and we will not forget it.
We also enjoyed attending Nick Butler's lectures at the library and processing what we had learned afterwards at the Saffron Restaurant.
We are bereft of the opportunity to know and learn from him more. We llook forward to a time we can continue to be with Rosie.
May the spirit of everlasting love abide with Rosie, Shane and all the family.
