Eloise McKinney

Obituary of Eloise Daniels McKinney

You may be gone from our sight…

But you are never gone from our hearts.

Eloise D. McKinney, a long-time resident of the Lowcountry area, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Trident Medical Center.

Eloise was born in Colquitt GA, on November 8th, 1935 to George T. and Minnie Lee (Davis) Daniels of Colquitt, GA.

Eloise was a proud Mom of her son, Michael, Grandma to Joey and Michael and great-grandson Mikey.

She was a fierce defender of her friends and family and loved with all of her heart.  Eloise was a caring philanthropist and gave of her time.  Eloise always believed you should give something, that was bigger than yourself.

We ask that in lieu of flowers, that folks donate to charities that Eloise was passionate about supporting and/or volunteering with:  Red Cross, Boys Town, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Arbor Day Foundation, and International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (Standing with Israel).  She was an avid bowler and was inducted into the Greater Charleston Women’s Bowling Association (GCWBA) Hall of Fame.  She will be missed by many, but the family is comforted by the fact that she is now in her Lord’s embrace.

Eloise is survived by her son, Michael Joseph McKinney Sr., his wife Catherine of Yorktown, VA, her grandson, Michael Joseph “Joey” McKinney Jr., his fiancée Rhea of Lexington, Kentucky, her grandson Michael Everett Dreher-Byrd Sr., his wife Jennifer of Seaford, VA, her great-grandson Michael “Mikey” Everett Dreher-Byrd Jr. of Seaford, VA, her beloved dog Cissy and many wonderful friends that she has touched throughout the years.

Eloise is predeceased by her parents George T. and Minnie Lee (Davis) Daniels, her sister Florence (Daniels) Thomas, her brother Eugene Daniels, and her baby brother Emmett Daniels.

The family would like to thank the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office for the deputies and EMTs for their professional and caring response.  Also, like to thank the Emergency Room and ICU medical staff at Trident Medical Center for their compassionate care for Eloise.
