Obituary of Shelly Lorene Peacock
Her Children arise up and call her blessed, her husband also and he praises her.
Proverbs 31:28
Ms. Shelly Lorene Peacock, 78, of Summerville, South Carolina entered into eternal rest on February 17, 2021 after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia.
Shelly was born on December 10, 1942 in Chester, Georgia to the belated Doris Wisham Amerson and Reverend Shelton P. Amerson.
The family relocated to Brunswick, Georgia with their two daughters where Shelly attended the Glynn County school system.
At age 16 Shelly accepted Jesus as her Savior and was baptized at Sterling Baptist Church. She lived all her life loving and serving the Lord. Shelly kept her heart tender before the Lord and trusted in His Word. When she prayed she always cried and there was not a dry eye in the room when she said amen.
During a Pastoral change at Sterling Baptist Church she met her future husband John Allison Peacock (a son of the new Pastor). The couple married on October 14, 1961 and started their 56 years of marriage together.
In May 1980 the family relocated to Summerville, South Carolina where their family continues to grow.
Shelly had many accomplishments in life, many hobbies and many interest but nothing meant more to her than her family. She loved being called a Daughter, a Sister, a Wife, an Aunt and a Friend but she loved nothing more than being called Momma and Mama.
Shelly loved playing in a flower pot while the children ran around playing in the yard behind her.
She loved the beach and hunting sea shells with the children.
She loved holidays, birthdays and any special occasion that meant a family gathering with her family and friends.
Shelly was a loving lady with a southern sass and will be greatly missed by those she left behind.
Preceded in death by her husband John Allison Peacock,Sr., her parents Reverend Shelton P. Amerson and Doris Leath Amerson and a Grandchild, Brandon.
