Obituary of Larry D Sanders

On Wednesday May 5, 2021, Larry D Sanders loving husband and incredible father of four children passed away at the age of 78. 

 He was born on August 25, 1942 in NewHebron Mississipppi to James and Pluma Sanders. He enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 17 in which he had a stellar career with numerous awards and commendations. He rose from the ranks of the enlisted to eventually becoming a commissioned officer. He loved serving his country and being a part of the US Navy.  He married Mary Taylor from  Massachusetts. They raised four children, Deborah, Lynne, Larry Jr, and James.

His love for seeing the country and meeting new people was united with his passion for riding his motorcycle. He has seen this beautiful country in the saddle of his motorcycles, starting from Goose Creek South Carolina to Seattle Washington and as far as Nova Scotia, Canada and all points in-between. The pictures and stories that accompanied those photos brought smiles to all that seen and heard them. The love for his children was inspirational and only eclipsed by the love and devotion he had for his wife. He was protector, mentor, teacher and example of how to be a man with unwavering character. 

Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Mary. He his survived by his four children Deborah, Lynne, Larry Jr., and James. Larry has nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A memorial service is planned for Tuesday May 11, 2021 at Simplicity Funeral Home at 281 Treeland Dr., Ladson Sc 29456 from 3-4 pm.
