Obituary of Joyce Legare Hodge

Joyce Legare Hodge, 84, of Bonneau, SC, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, May 13, 2021. 

A memorial service will be held at Simplicity: Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services, 281 Treeland Dr., Suite C, Ladson, SC 29456, on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 12:00 noon. 

Joyce was born October 16, 1936, in McClellanville, SC, and is the daughter of the late Daniel Legare and Helen Legare of McClellanville, SC.  She is predeceased by her husband Hiram Hodge and son Edward Nelson, and is survived by daughters Rachael Curry, Victoria Nelson-Rentz (John), Joyce Nelson, and son Richard Nelson (Patty), grandchildren:  Eddie Nelson, Philip Nelson, Crystal Lofton, Whitney Wanamaker, Heidi Hobbs, Peter Curry, Jr., Heather Dillard, Chad Taylor, Ian Loy, Teresa Looker, Kayce Nelson; 14 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and extended family members.  She was a strong-will beautiful lady who loved family, friends, the beach, needlework, sewing, oyster roasts, cooking, and her pets.  She will forever be loved by her family and missed dearly.
