Obituary of Karen D Smith
Karen Duana (Day) Smith born in Arkansas City, Kansas to John D. Day and Marilyn L.A. Hoggatt Day, July 5, 1948, has pass at home in Dorchester, South Carolina, May 10, 2021, surrounded by her family.
She was a faithful wife for 52 years, 7 months and 20 days to Edward “Jack” Smith of Dorchester. They credit their relationship with Jesus and daily hugs and kisses for their wonderful life together.
Karen and Jack joined the body of Christ in 1972. Both were at peace with her passing and the assurance she is now with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She is survived by: her husband, two children of natural birth, a daughter Shelly Anne Knight wife of Jason Knight, a son Edward James Smith, three grandchildren Edward Jeremey Smith, Tristen Hunter Knight, Tigerlily Diane Esther Knight, one great-
grandson Bently Dawson Canaday Smith. Also a brother David Day, and his wife Sharon, sister Rita Walker and their families all of California. She also had several heart-adopted children David Barnekow of Roebuck, SC, Diane Quattlebaum of Ridgeville, SC, and James Robertson of Greenwood, SC, to name a few. Many others loved her and called her “Mom”.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 26th at 6 pm at the residence of Jack Smith.
