Obituary of John Walton Weise

CPO John Walton Weise, U.S. Navy, Retired, 87, of Bonneau Beach died May 17, 2021, at Agape Hospice House in Summerville, SC.  CPO Weise was also a retired E & I Superintendent with Santee Cooper at the Cross Generating Station where he was lovingly called “Admiral”.

CPO Weise was born July 4, 1933 in Rockdale, Texas to Walter and Edna Weise.  He married the love of his life, Darlene Pinkerton Weise, on October 12, 1951.  

CPO Weise was an avid fisherman in his younger years and always loved being around his family.  He was known as Papaw to his grandchildren, great and great- great grandchildren and to many in the community. 

His memorial service will be held at Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial, 7475 Peppermill Pkwy, North Charleston, SC. (281 Treeland Drive, Ladson, SC)

CPO Weise is survived by his wife of 69 years, Darlene Weise;  a son, Johnny Weise of Savannah, GA; a daughter, Cheryl Fuller (Jimmy) of North Charleston and a sister, Deborah Tovar (Roy) of Rockdale, Texas.  He was predeceased by a son, Ricky Weise and a daughter, Rhonda Rodgers as well as his parents and two sisters, Anna Mae Rucker and Dorothy Sanders.

Papaw is also survived by his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
