Obituary of Tommy L Bennett

Tommy L. Bennett, age 84, died Tuesday May 25, 2021 at Roper Hospice Cottages following an illness.

Mr. Bennett was born to Jesse Cohen Bennett and Ruby Elease Coker Bennett. He was employed by the United States Postal Service prior to his retirement. He was an avid fisherman in his younger years and loved to fish for sheephead.

Mr. Bennett was predeceased by his wife Arlee W. Bennett, daughter Judy W. Coleman, grandson Walter W. Coleman, brother J.C. Bennett and two sisters: Fahrnease Stokes and Rebecca Othell Kiker. Survivors include his daughter Terri Michi and son-in-law Douglas of Summerville SC, grandchildren: Joshua Michi of Summerville, SC, Nicholas Michi and his wife Lauren, great grandson Taylor Michi all of Charleston, SC, sister Eleanor DeLoach and her husband Bill of Murrells Inlet, SC and several nieces and nephews.

He was called many names over the years such Fate, LaFate, Bennett, Tiger and Tommy but the most beloved was Daddy and Papa.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday June 1, 2021 at 1:00pm at Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation & Burial Services in Ladson, SC. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00pm at Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation & Burial Services,

A private burial will follow at a later date.
