Obituary of Keister Richardson

Following an 18 year battle with Early Onset Alzheimer's Disease, Keister Richardson, DDS of Sun City  passed away on May 22 at the age of 74. He and Camille were college sweethearts and married 56 years. Their son Keister III (Paula), daughter Dr. Christy (Michael), grandsons Kale, Carter, Cole and Devon, sisters Joan Bronson and Sylvia Richardson will cherish wonderful memories of a great man with a kind heart. 

Keister attended VA Tech (VPI), U of Miami, WVU School of Dentistry, UK, and UAB, receiving degrees and certificates in Dentistry, Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics. 

He and Camille established dental practices in Wilmington NC and Stuart Florida.  He was the first Pediatric Dentist in Wilmington.  After specializing for the second time, he practiced Orthodontics in Stuart until early retirement in 1995.

Over the following years, Keister and Camille traveled between homes in Bluffton SC and Boothbay Harbor ME in their motorhome with their African Grey parrot, Barney, and cats, Honey and Bo, and dogs Trixie and Ginger.  Keister loved their Maine summer home and the quaint community of Boothbay Harbor.         

A memorial service for Keister is planned in Danville, VA followed by a celebration of life party at the Owens Farm Barn.  The family would like to thank Harbor Cove Memory Care and Caris Hospice for their care and compassion and would be grateful for  donations to Memory Matters (PO Box 22330, HHI 29925), Maranatha Farm (342 Crabapple Lane Ridgeland, SC 29936), or your favorite Animal Rescue Organization.
