Obituary of Faye Elizabeth Rigsbee

Faye Elizabeth Rigsbee, 85, of Charleston, SC passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021. Faye was born on May 5, 1936 in Durham, NC to Ernest James Teague Sr. and Leila Sanders Teague. Faye married her childhood sweetheart, Walter Ronald Rigsbee on December 25, 1952. After marrying, Faye and “Ronnie” moved to Charleston in 1954 where they raised their children. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Faye was an active member of Ashley River Baptist Church. She had a passion for tennis, and was instrumental in naming Charleston ‘America’s Best Tennis Town’ in 2010. She was the team captain on several teams over the years, coordinated countless leagues and tournaments in the area, and retired from the Charleston Tennis Center after 30 years of dedicated service.

Faye’s memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 23 at 10am at Simplicity Funeral Home located at 7475 Peppermill Parkway, North Charleston, SC 29418.

Daughters: Rhonda Faye Rigsbee, Debbie Rigsbee Iredell (Tom), Charlye Rigsbee Gagnon (Rick), Melissa Rigsbee Howard (James)

Sons: Walter Ronald Murphy (Cindy), Ronald Dean Rigsbee

Brother: Ernest James Teague, Jr. (Sharon)
