Obituary of Lenna Louise Lynes-Hundt

Lenna Louise Lynes-Hundt passed away at Memorial Health University Medical Center a few minutes after midnight on July 18, 2021.
She succumbed to complications due to an automobile accident. She passed peacefully with family at her bedside.

Lenna was born in Morris, Illinois, on November 10, 1940, the daughter of Leonard Lynes and Lillian (Belt) Lynes-Marshall. Lenna went to Morris High School and was in many activities. She graduated in 1959. She worked in the manufacturing and medical field until retiring in 2013. In 1959 she married Thomas Gibbons and had a daughter Dawn Therese and a son Rodney Thomas. In 1970 she married Charles Budde and had a daughter Chawn Cherise.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother Grant “Skippy” Marshall, sister Sylvia (Vernon) Hauschild, and step-father William Marshall.

In 1994, she married her loving husband Vernon Hundt and lived in Geneva, Illinois, until 2018 and retired to Bluffton, South Carolina.
She lived an active life in Sun City Hilton Head. She loved her life in South Carolina after living much of it in Illinois. She was an avid colored pencil artist, winning many ribbons in the Sun City art club.

She is survived by her sister Cynthia (David) Tallman, daughters Dawn (Brian) Mangiaracina and Chawn (Jerry) Ritz, son Rodney (Tammy) Gibbons, stepsons Brian (Alison) and Brad (Jen) Hundt, her seven grandchildren, Joshua (Dawn), Kegan & Lillian (Chawn), Cori & Vinny (Brian), Lia, Cameron & Logan (Brad)

A celebration of life will be held this Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 5:00 pm at her favorite restaurant Squat and Gobble, in Bluffton, where they ate breakfast every day for the last three years and made wonderful memories and long lasting friendships.
