Obituary of Dean Allen Davis

Dean Allen Davis
62 years old, Charleston, SC
12/20/1958 - 7/17/2021

Dean Allen Davis of Charleston, SC passed away at home with his loving wife on Saturday July 17 at the age of 62. He was born in Conway, SC to the late Bettie Todd and Woodrow Davis. Dean worked for more than 30 years in the transportation business in the Charleston area in various positions.  He worked hard and was so proud to have opened his own successful business prior to the onset of his illness.  It was a great accomplishment and a treasure for him. Dean was known for his sharp wit, charm, conversation, and common sense advice.  He never knew a stranger, and could talk to anyone.  A strong Christian, Dean has left this world to join his Heavenly Father in the next world.

Dean was a beloved husband of 37 years of Kim Davis of Charleston, SC; father to a son Andrew of Raleigh, NC, daughter Amanda of Charleston, SC and grandfather to Elliott and Rhett. He was a brother to Danny Davis of Tulsa, OK and Joyce Fournier of Lafayette, LA. Along with his parents, Dean is reunited in his passing with his sister Deborah.

Dean enjoyed watching football and racing of all types, even participating in racing during his early years.  He was an avid fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks, the New England Patriots, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  Dean was so smart and knew so much about many subjects.  He loved watching the History and Discovery channels.  He loved Charleston, but also enjoyed vacations with his family on cruises, Disney, and Las Vegas.  Dean cared for animals, especially dogs, and had many canine companions in his life including his current Plott Hound, Sherlock. Although he endured much pain and illness in his final days, he was glad to be with his family and hound.  Dean loved and was exceptionally proud of his family. He will be deeply missed.
