Obituary of Frank Withrow Macrae

Frank Withrow Chips Macrae III died of natural causes June 25, 2018 at his home in Charleston, S. C.  He was born on September 16, 1944 in Charlotte, N. C. to Elizabeth Glover Price and Frank Withrow Macrae Jr.

Chips graduated from Myers Park High School, the class of 1962 and attended UNC Charlotte.  During his adult career he was a salesman for a number of different companies across the states. However, his advocation was cooking.  It was his passion.

Chips is survived by his wife Diane N. Jones of Charleston, S. C., his sister, Lynn Childers (Bubba) of Charlotte, N. C., his nephew, Justin Childers (Christina) of Raleigh, N. C., a step son, Christopher Jones of Charleston, S. C.,  a step daughter, Catherine Wulfhorst of Denver, N. C., and 7 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Glover Price and his father, Frank Withrow Macrae Jr., and his son, Ken Macrae.

The Memorial Service will be held at St. Michael’s Anglican Church , at 71 Broad Street, Charleston, S. C. beginning at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 2, 2018.  Following the service the family will receive friends at the home of Diane Jones, 1 Brennon Street, Charleston, S. C. 29407.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in his honor to the Special Olympics of S. C. or to St. Michael’s Church of Charleston.
