Obituary of Thomas Boan

Thomas “Levern” Boan, Sr., age 78, of Summerville passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday July 7, 2018. Born in Chesterfield County on March 10, 1940, he was the Son of the late Fred and Eva Brock Boan of Williston.  He is now at peace and no longer in pain. Levern was a humble, kind, loving man who always had a smile on his face and valued his family more than anything in the world.  He was a hard worker who retired from A&P Grocery after 40 years of service.  e He Levern was predeceased by his Son, Thomas Levern Boan, Jr. and Sister, Gertrude Boan Fulmer.  He is survived by his Wife and caregiver, Debra D. Boan; Sons Stephen Troy Boan, Sr. (Julie) of Aiken and Joseph D. Boan (Joel) of Summerville; Daughter Michelle B. Watts (Michael) of Blythewood; Brothers Ronnie Boan (Sabra), Freddie Boan (Darlene) and Reggie Boan (Janet); Grandchildren Brittany Burgess (Chris) of Myrtle Beach, Stephen Boan, Jr (Colby), Travis Boan (Hannah), Trevor Boan (Shelby), Hannah Boan, and Hayden Boan of Aiken; and Great-Grandchildren Julie Plemmons, Jake Plemmons, Brooke Burgess, James Boan, Charleigh Boan, Presleigh Boan, Addison Boan, Rylee Boan and Reed Boan.  The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice of Charleston for the loving care they provided.  Levern’s wish was to be cremated and a memorial service is being planned for August 4, 2018 @ 2:00 pm, Calvary Chapel of Aiken, 390 Croft Mill Road, Aiken SC, 29801.
