Obituary of Dona Hunt

Dona Gail Hunt, 74, was born April 27, 1947, in Beckley, West Virginia to the late Olen Rex Belcher and Jessie Leah Meadows. Dona Gail Hunt passed away on November 11, 2021, after a short illness in Summerville, South Carolina surrounded by her loving family. The family will have a private service and burial at a future date.

Dona was an avid mother and grandmother who spoiled her children and grandchildren with love and affection. Dona was known as everyone’s second mom, being a good listener and giving wonderful advice on the trials and tribulations of life.

For years, Dona was a stay-at-home mom caring for her beloved children. Later in life, Dona worked as a waitress and as a school and hospital custodian, putting her ambition and desire into her customers and work. After years of working, Dona retired and again put her all into her family and friends. Dona loved to travel with family and friends to various locations to gamble and just have fun, living life to its fullest.

Dona Gail Hunt was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Rex, and Billy. Dona Gail Hunt is survived by her siblings Karen Bremer, Kathy Rivi and her spouse Joe, Richard Waddell and his spouse Diane, and Becky Starkey. Dona is also survived by her children, Tony Dean Hunt and his wife Bonnie Travaglio Hunt, her daughter, Sherri Lynn McDaniel and her husband Alvin “Buddy” McDaniel, her grandchildren, Carolina Hunt, Anthony Hunt, Noah McDaniel, and Hannah McDaniel. Dona leaves behind countless nieces and nephews, great nieces, and nephews, as well as coworkers and friends whom she had loved and touched over the years.
