Obituary of Brian Kelvin Smith

Brian (Grumpy) Kelvin Smith, 63, of North Charleston, SC passed away December 17, 2021 at home surrounded by family.  His funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021. Visitation will be held from 1-2pm with services immedately following at 2:00pm at Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Service Inc in North Charleston.

Brian was born May 3, 1958 in Manchester, NH, son of the late Virginia Mixson Smith and Donald Herbert Smith. He attended Eau Claire High School and Midland Technical in Columbia, SC. Over the years he was employed with Southern Door Controls in both Columbia and Charleston. 

Then spent many years working in construction.  

He is survived by his wife of 40 years,  Catherine Riddle Smith.  Daughter Erin (Chris)Winge,  son Collin (Kristina)Smith and his brother Barry K. Smith. He also leaves behind his 3 grandsons Christopher,  Hunter and Noah Winge. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Blane K. Smith. 

His family is especially grateful for the grace and care given by Amedisys Hospice group.
