Obituary of George Edgar Newkirk III

George Edgar Newkirk III, 65 of Ladson South Carolina entered into eternal rest on December 21, 2021. George was born September 30, 1956 to George E. Newkirk Jr and Sarah Newkirk Bozik at Baker hospital.

He is survived by his son Matthew Lyons and daughter Alise Newkirk, his siblings Teresa Owens, Brian Newkirk, and Ellen Carlisle, along with many nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his wife Lynn M. Newkirk, his parents George E. Newkirk, Sarah N. Bozik, and his stepfather Michael Bozik.

George graduated from James Island High School and the College of Charleston. He retired from Publix supermarket as an assistant store manager and was currently employed with Berkeley County School District as a child nutrition service manager. He was a practitioner of martial arts for most of his life. He held Shodan rank and above. He was loyal, devoted and forthright. He valued education and was an avid reader. He pursued lifelong learning. George requested no services to be held and his family is honoring his wish. He requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in his memory.
