Obituary of Elva M Day

Elva M. Day left this world on December 18, 2021 at the age of 91 at Lowcountry Community Hospice House.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  Elva was born May 10, 1930 to Jim and Minnie Mitchum of Dorchester County. She is preceded in death by her husband James H. Day Sr; two brothers, Jimmie Mitchum and Adrian Mitchum; daughter in law Pam J. Atkins. Surviving are three sons, James H. Day Jr and wife Gerry of San Francisco, CA, William D. Day II and wife Janice of Covington, LA, and Frederick L. Day II of Moncks Corner, SC; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two sisters, Mae Chandler of Moncks Corner, SC, Olive Miller of Moncks Corner, SC; one brother, Raymond Mitchum and wife Grace of Cross, SC. She was a member of Pinopolis Methodist Church. There will be a private service held for the family. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Lowcountry Community Hospice House, Summerville, South Carolina or Lake Moultrie Health and Rehab, St. Stephens, South Carolina.
