Obituary of Henry "Perry" Strong, Jr.

Henry “Perry” Strong, Jr., 80, of James Island, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday, December 27, 2021.

Henry was born January 23, 1941, in Kingstree, South Carolina. He was a machinist with General Electric, the Charleston Naval Shipyard, and served in the United States Naval Reserves. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Perry Strong, Sr., his mother, Virginia Cantley Strong, and daughter, Lazette Melondy Strong.

He is survived by his devoted partner, Shirley Weaver, daughter Lynda (Eugene) Keller, grandchildren Danielle (Jason) Green, Erika Risher, Heather (John) Brannen, Jeanette (Jake) Duncan, Linzy Strong, Megan (Josh) Freiberg, and eleven great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Roper St. Francis Hospice for their loving care and concern. They were outstanding, providing comfort and support to the very end.
