Obituary of Warren Knudsen

 Warren E Knudsen husband of Jewell Lowman Knudsen passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018.

He was born in Morgan, Mn October 13, 1931 to late Harry Jules Knudsen and Ella Ruth Rogers Knudsen, Grandson of the late Hans and Kristine Knudsen and late Edwin and Nina Sage Rogers.  In 1949 he graduated from Wood Lake high school, shortly after he joined the U.S.  Navy. In  basic training he was recruit Commander of Troops and graduated from Hospital Corpsman school at Great Lakes, III Naval training center, reassigned to the Charleston SC Naval Hospital. Warren then met and married Sarah Hampton Hair Duncan of Barnwell, SC

Sarah passed away in 1995 after 44 years of a loving and happy marriage. They had two sons; Thomas E. and Dale A. Knudsen (Stella) and  Step-daughter Marie E.  Hair. The Navy reassigned him to the Fleet’s 3rd Marine division during the Korean war and was honorably discharged. He moved to Columbia, SC attended USC. Former board member of Richland Mall merchant association. Retired from NBSC 1994 as Vice President. Member of St. Luke's Lutheran church. Former charter member (treasurer) of the Summerville Breakfast Rotary Club. A Paul Harris Fellow. Served several years as a board member of the Low Country Chapter of the American Red Cross, including Chapter Chairman. Former, member Charleston’s Elks lodge #242, the low country Miata club, and the country clubs of Summerville. Surviving sisters Dee Engle and Phyllis Borer. Predeceased siblings Joyce Odom (Corbett), Janice Gronhols (Dennis) & Delbert (Lois).

God had a way of healing Warren’s grieving heart by meeting the new love of his life, Jewell Ellen Robbins Lowman whom he married in 1999, they have enjoyed many overseas travels as well as USA travels, two wonderful step-children, Julie Lowman and Tony Strickland (Christine). Grandchildren Daniel Knudsen (April-Dawn) Michael Knudsen (Kristin) Brittney Burkett (Nick) Two great-grandchildren and 8-Step-Grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held St. Luke Lutheran Church Saturday September 1st  visitation will be held from  10-11:00 AM.  Funeral Service will begin at  11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers please donate to Hospice of your choice.
